Background:
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is implementing the project "Sustainable Urban Development - Smart Cities II” (SUDSC II) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project supports the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the partner State Governments (Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Telangana) in developing resilient, sustainable approaches in urban development including infrastructure that consider disaster risk management and leave-no-one-behind principles. The project also supports the six smart cities of Bhubaneshwar, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Kochi, Mangaluru, and Manikonda, in implementing activities related to risk-informed, integrated, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable urban development. One of the key project outputs is to create communities of practice (CoP) and knowledge exchange platform for on the thematic topic of localised action for urban resilience, digitalisation, municipal finance. It is envisaged to produce knowledge products contributing to the CoP and to promote risk informed, integrated, sustainable urban development of cities.
Objectives:
i. To prepare video documentaries on the following topics for wider dissemination and to promote risk informed, integrated, sustainable urban development of cities:
a. Innovative climate resilience approaches and localised solutions in partner cities for climate-induced disasters.
b. Various interventions undertaken at the national / state / city level for addressing extreme heat-related challenges, and their impact on vulnerable sections of the society, especially women and children.
c. Urban Labs - a temporary multi-stakeholder format for supporting innovative, data-based approaches for transformative actions at the local level.
Tasks of the assignment:
1. Develop three videos for 10 minutes duration on the above-mentioned topics.
2. A two-minute teaser on each of the topics
3. A 3-4-minute video version for social media dissemination
4. Around 100 still photographs (high resolution)
